Project Location: Clocolan/Hlohlolwane, Free-State.
Description: The project consisted of the design and project management of the water treatment plant (WTP) in Clooclan. This entailed uprading the water treatment plant from 5.6Ml/day to 10ML/day.
The project consisted of increasing the baffle flocculator capacity, a new clarifier, 3 new rapid gravity sand filters, new lime dosing building and upgrading the entire mechanical and electrical equipment for the plant.
The 6 existing old filters was converted to rapid gravity sand filters resulting in much higher filtration capacity.
Much needed stormwater management designwas also implemented for the plant to prevent the mechanical room from flooding during extreme stormwater events.
Conclusion: The project was successfully completed and handed over to the client in November 2024.
